In Confirmation II, students go through the proximate preparation to receive the third Sacrament of Initiation, the Sacrament of Confirmation! Students must be enrolled in Confirmation I and II (Encounter) at CtR for both years. The earliest a student may enroll in Confirmation II is 10th grade. Students eligible for Confirmation II must have completed all requirements for Confirmation I (good attendance, no more than 4 absences; a retreat; and all service projects).
Our Confirmation program is called "Encounter". For session days and times, visit our information page for Encounter here: Encounter
Students enrolled in Catholic school for 9th and 10th grades can move right into Confirmation II in their sophomore year.
The Confirmation II year differs from others in that students attend Encounter on Sunday nights with their small group, but additional proximate preparation for the sacrament is done in one of two ways. Students can either come with their sponsor to large group nights or they can work one-on-one with a mentor. Mentors go through the proximate preparation information with their students monthly at a date and time that works for them. Ideally, mentors would be the student's sponsor, but if the sponsor is not equipped to do this, we will work with you.
Students are required to attend a Confirmation II retreat. Our CII retreat is scheduled for January 13-15, 2023 and retreat registration opens on October 1, 2022 and closes on December 1, 2022..
