Q. What is the two step process for registration?
A. Registration is now a two step process. First step is signing them up electronically. Second step is turning in paperwork.
Q. Are there different time slots available for your programs?
A. No, we only have one session for each age group. Middle School (Rise) is Wednesday nights from 7-8:30pm and High School (Encounter) is Sunday nights from 6:45-8:30pm. Each Camino group meets at a different time depending on the group.
Q. Do you have a paper copy registration form I can fill out?
A. No, all of our registration is done electronically. If you need help with this, contact Stacie McKay ([email protected]) and you can set up a time to do it together at the church.
Q. Do we need to be registered parishioners to enroll?
A. No, we recommend it, but it is not required. All are welcome!
Q. My child is in 8th grade, can I enroll them in Confirmation I?
A. No, Confirmation Preparation in our Archdiocese cannot begin until 9th grade. They need to enroll in 8th Grade Rise - where we begin to introduce elements that will be required once they begin Confirmation.
Q. We are new to the area, we completed Confirmation I at another parish, what do we do?
A. Submit a letter from the previous parish indicating that they completed Confirmation I and what was included in that program (how many sessions, retreats, service projects, etc.). Register for Confirmation II
Q. My child was enrolled in 8th Grade Rise and we turned in a copy of their baptismal certificate, do I have to turn it in again?
A. No, we only need the one copy. If you have already turned that in to the Youth Ministry department, you are all set.
Q. Can I email you their paperwork/baptism certificate?
A. Unfortunately, we do not have a process in place to accept emailed copies of certificates or other paperwork. Please drop off paper copies at the main parish offices during office hours or drop them in the night drop [to the right of the office door] to the attention of Stacie McKay.
Q. If my child has already been confirmed do I have to turn in a copy of their baptismal certificate?
A. Nope!
Q. If my child received 1st communion at CtR do I need to turn in another copy of my child's baptismal certificate?
A. Yes, any time your child is preparing to receive a sacrament in the Catholic church they are going to need to submit a copy of their baptismal certificate. Even if they were baptized at the church they are receiving the sacrament in.
Q. When is the paperwork due?
A. The deadline is July 31st, but we will take it earlier! Students need to have paperwork from the previous year (service forms) turned in in order to continue on into the following year of formation.
Q. I have a student in RE who is younger than 7th grade that I've already paid for. Do I pay a different price than the $85 per student? Is there a discount?
A. No, they are two separate departments with different accounts so the payments have to go into separate accounts.
Q. My child has been in Catholic school their whole life and they need to receive Confirmation. What do I sign them up for?
A. If they are in 10, 11, or 12th grade, and they are currently enrolled in a Catholic school you would sign them up for Confirmation 2. If they're in 9th grade then Confirmation 1, and if in 7th or 8th grade register for RISE.
Q. Do I have to fill out the form each time if I have multiple children in grades 7-12?
A. No, you only need to fill out the form once per family. Just indicate how many in each program and you can register up to four children at one time.
Q. What is the difference between Youth Ministry and RE?
A. Youth Ministry and RE are both Faith Formation programs for youth but serve different age groups and have different formats. RE provides Faith Formation for students in grades Pre-K 3 through 6th grade while Youth Ministry provides Faith Formation for students in grades 7-12.
Q. I want to send my 6th grader to RISE but they're already registered for RE. Do I have to pay again?
A. No, as long as your child is signed up (and attends) RE, there is no cost for 6th grade RISE.
